Data is the lifeblood of modern marketing, and if you're not syncing it to your various data systems effectively, you're not using its full potential.

We've all witnessed this pattern: businesses gather heaps of data, from personal specifics to user engagement stats, yet they hit a wall.

The data remains underutilized because it’s isolated from the rest of your business systems like your CRM or other marketing automation tools.

Locked away, it's as good as stale bread.

Getting it to play nice with the rest of your business ecosystem can be a game-changer.

And this is exactly why we've introduced webhooks, to connect islands of data.

Creating your webhook

For the uninitiated, webhooks might sound technical, but they are essentially just mailboxes in the form of URLs that your Scrollmark account can ping to send data it collects to other places.

You can customize what data gets sent and when, based on trigger conditions you can configure. It's like automating a conversation between your marketing platforms.

With minimal setup, webhooks automatically send data collected from specific user interactions directly supported by Scrollmark to other places you need it to be.

No manual exports, no tedious data entry – just set it and forget it.

The process is straightforward:

  1. Register webhook URLs from your third-party applications into your Scrollmark account.
  2. Choose the Scrollmark events that will trigger the webhook.
  3. Watch as data flows automatically to your chosen destination – be it your CRM, analytics tool, or spreadsheet.

Then, you kick back and watch the magic happen.

If you’d like more fine-grained control over what gets sent and when, we’ve got you covered. We’re introducing Export Nodes in our journey builder that let you do precisely this. It's designed for simplicity and robust configurability.

Adding export node to your flows

After creating a journey and selecting your trigger, you can add an export node as a journey point. Make sure you’ve selected the ‘Custom Event’ type in your webhook settings for webhooks you want to use here.

Select your webhook from a list. This is where Scrollmark hands off information to your chosen platform, whether you want to do it for your CRM, customer support app, or marketing automation tool.

Configure what data goes through the webhook.

You can select dynamic properties like profile information, personal information like email, user tags, and more—whatever info is relevant to your flow.

Before you let it run wild, test your webhook to ensure it's capturing and sending the right data. Once you’re confident it’s working, save your settings.

With everything set up, your data will now move automatically from Scrollmark to your external platforms, whenever the Export node runs during a journey.

Export nodes let you create a responsive and automated workflow that not only saves time but also enriches your customer profiles wherever they live.

While the wheels are already turning internally on more direct integrations with major CRM systems for an even smoother experience, webhooks offer a powerful and flexible solution that’s available today.

Connect your Scrollmark data with the rest of your business ecosystem and watch your marketing strategies thrive on the seamless integration.

It's time to make your data work harder for you.
